Cardiff Bay, what a difference a bay makes!

Cardiff Bay, what a difference a bay makes!

Cardiff Bay is the area of water created by the Cardiff Barrage in south Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Cardiff Bay is supplied by two rivers Taff and Ely to form freshwater lake around the former dockland area south of the city centre. The old Cardiff docklands have been redeveloped in the last decade to create Cardiff Bay, home to a large freshwater lake for sailing and water sports.

One hundred years ago the docklands were the hub of the world’s coal industry, transporting millions of tonnes of coal across the globe. The docks have now been reborn into a popular tourist attraction. On the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, Mermaid Quay, you can find delicious cuisine from around the world in dozens of restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as the popular comedy club, the Glee Club.
